Iman Shumpert attended Oak Park and River Forest High School in Oak Park, Illinois, where he played basketball for the Oak Park Huskies. After graduating from high school, he attended and played basketball for Georgia Tech.
During his freshman year at Georgia Tech, Shumpert earned a spot on the All-ACC freshman team and was named ACC all-tournament second team. He went on to play three seasons at Georgia Tech before declaring for the NBA draft.
While at Georgia Tech, Shumpert majored in science, technology, and culture with a minor in law and society. He was also named to the ACC All-Academic team in 2011.
